Welcome to The Heartspun Treasure Primitives Online Newsletter Happy July!
I hope everyone is having a terrific summer and that you're staying cool. After
our bitter winter, I hate to complain about the heat. Seems we've gone from
extreme to the other.
Last weekend was our Test A New Recipe cookout. We had pulled pork
sandwiches, testing out a couple of rubs and new BBQ sauces. We also
sampled several new appetizers, side dishes and desserts. The biggest hit was
the Ice Cream Sandwich Cake, recipe is below. Over the next couple
of months I'll continue to share the recipes that we thought were fantastic. So,
stay tuned. ;o)
Every year, in July, I have to force myself to start thinking ahead to autumn,
which is okay by me. I plop myself into my craft room, put a chill in the
air and start thinking about pumpkins and crows. So, that's exactly what
I've done. I've made some new crow and pumpkin crock fillers and have some more
projects in the works. I'm also attempting to remake a lot of items that
currently say sold. As always, if you're interested in something that is
sold or you'd like me to custom make an item for you, just send me an e-mail.
Have a great month!
Prim blessings from my family to yours.

THIS MONTH'S FEATURED RECIPE
Please know that all recipes featured here are not random
recipes I pulled from a cookbook or website. They are all tried and true recipes
right from my personal collection.
Ice Cream Sandwich Cake
20 ice cream sandwiches (regular, strawberry or neopolitan)
1 12 oz. jar hot fudge sauce
1 8 oz. container frozen whipped topping (such as Cool Whip), thawed
red, white and blue sprinkles
Cut one ice cream sandwich in half. Place one whole ice cream sandwich and one
half of an ice cream sandwich side by side across the short end of a 9 x 13 pan.
Next to those ice cream sandwiches, arrange 8 more ice cream sandwiches
lengthwise, to cover the bottom of the pan.
Place hot fudge sauce in a microwave-safe container. Heat on high for 30
seconds. Spread half of the sauce over the ice cream sandwiches.
Top with half of the whipped topping.
Repeat layers: ice cream sandwiches, hot fudge sauce and whipped topping.
Scatter sprinkles over top.
Freeze, uncovered 2 hours. Cover with foil and freeze another hour.
